Monday, April 18, 2016, rather than April 15, 2106 is this year’s filing deadline to submit 2015 federal and New York state income tax returns.
The reason for the later than usual date is due to the fact that Washington, D.C., will celebrate Emancipation Day on April 15, 2016, which pushes the deadline to the following workday – April 18, 2016.
